Electromagnetic radiation is merely a form of transmitted energy. The radiation's name comes about because it comprises electric and magnetic fields, which are in simultaneous oscillations along mutually perpendicular planes and in the direction of the propagation through space.
It is noteworthy that electromagnetic radiation possesses both wave properties and particulate properties. The wave nature considers electromagnetic radiation as a moving sinusoidal wave. On the other hand, the particulate nature of electromagnetic radiations implies that the waves are particles that are constantly oscillating about a mean position.
